Oliver’s Presenting Notes.
Session 1: 18/03/2026
Day 1: Foundations – Presence, Delivery & Connection
What’s working really well
You are doing really well and have developed over the years already.
You’ve clearly put work into your sight reading, that’s coming across strongly.
Your posture is solid, grounded and present, which gives you a confident on-camera foundation.
Nice use of hand gestures overall, they feel natural and support what you’re saying. (Just maybe do hands together vs ‘manosphere’ :) )
You took on the note about bringing more warmth, and we’re now starting to see more variation in your vocal tone.
Overall, you come across as a solid presenter with a good base to build from.
🔧 Builds / Next Focus Areas
Preparation & Nerves
Keep deploying the breathing techniques before filming. Ideally, take 5 minutes before your first video to slow everything down:
Breathe in for 4
Hold for 4
Release for 4
As you do this, visualise a place that makes you feel calm and positive (somewhere warm, peaceful, or familiar - mountains, beach, cycle ride!).
Layer in simple affirmations:
“This person really likes me”
“I’m really excited to talk to this person”
This will help you start each take with a genuine, relaxed warmth.
You can even physically loosen up beforehand, a quick laugh or shake-out can help release tension and bring energy into the body.
Connection Over Presentation
Focus on making it feel like a real conversation rather than a presentation.
Imagine you’re sitting across from the person, speaking to someone you trust and have rapport with.
This allows your delivery to become more natural and slightly softer, rather than feeling like you need to “project” or push.
Tone & Energy
Be mindful of over-hyping internally (e.g. “let’s smash this, let’s go get it”) - this can sometimes translate as slightly forced or aggressive in delivery.
Instead, aim for a calmer, warmer internal state. Think ease, enjoyment and connection.
Facial Expression & Warmth
Continue building warmth through your face.
You don’t need to smile constantly, but ensure there is natural expression and animation as you speak, avoiding a still or neutral expression.
A well-timed, genuine smile can make a big difference to how you’re perceived on camera.
Script Awareness
Watch out for repetition in your wording, tightening this will help your delivery feel cleaner and more intentional.
🎥 Optional Focus for Next Session
We can also explore simple techniques to release tension further and shift that harder ‘I’m going to fucking get this’ approach. Ways to make it feel like more fun for you too.
